Corporate investigators conduct internal and external
investigations for corporations. In internal investigations
they investigate drug use in the work place, ensure that
expense accounts are not abused, or determine if employees
are stealing merchandise or information. External investigations
typically prevent criminal schemes originating outside
the corporation, loss of company assets through fraudulent
billing of products by suppliers, short supply, and inventory
contract checking. Agents, distributors, small & big
contractors also become subject matter of investigations.
At times the competitor's moves,
mergers, takeovers and territories are to be scanned.
Key employees and formulae of adversaries are also screened
so as to learn about future plans, expansions etc. of
competitors. Talent piracy from other corporate is also
the name of the game. Installing counter-espionage measures
within the corporate and activating espionage systems
outside also falls within the purview of corporate investigators.
Security deployment and reviews are also looked into.
